On Tuesday, April 1, Wellman citizens went to the polls to decide whether the city should enter into a loan agreement of no more than $1,025,000 to assist in the construction and equipping of the proposed activity center. By the end of the day, the issue passed with an 88 percent approval rate.

Zumiez Inc. of Everett said its sales in March rose to $31.5 million, 11 percent higher than the same month last year. Sales at stores open more than a year, however, fell 3 percent. Because March 2007’s results were so strong, analysts had anticipated the decline.
